Frequently asked questions

Why are my apps locked?
Because you chose to pause them yourself. During setup you picked one or more apps in Apple's own Screen Time picker, and Joblock arms a shield over those apps using Apple's Family Controls framework. The shield only clears when you complete a job application — it's a lock you put on yourself, not something Joblock does to you.
How do I unlock my apps?
Open a job in Joblock — from your daily matches or from Search — and apply. The fastest free path: apply on the employer's own page yourself, then tap "I've applied — unlock my apps". No purchase is ever required to clear a gate. Up to 3 gates apply per day, with a cooldown of a few hours after each one you clear.
What do credits buy?
Credits pay for optional AI-drafted documents — a tailored CV summary or cover letter you can then review and edit. They're entirely optional: applying by hand is free forever, and AI drafting is never required to unlock a gate. There's no subscription — credits are a one-time consumable purchase.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to your account settings and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and the profile data, CV content, and generated documents stored on our servers. Apps you've chosen to pause and your Screen Time settings live only on your device, so deleting your account doesn't touch them — remove paused apps from the picker, or delete the app itself, to undo those separately.
Do refunds go through Joblock?
No — all purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, so refunds are handled entirely by Apple. Request one from reportaproblem.apple.com or via Settings → your name → Media & Purchases on your device.
Can Joblock see which apps I've chosen to pause?
No. The app selection you make in Apple's Screen Time picker never leaves your device — it isn't visible to Joblock's own code, let alone sent to our servers. We only know that a gate exists and whether you've cleared it, never which apps it covers.
